Frequently asked questions
Answers to what commissioners, dynasty players, and skeptical league mates ask most about League Tycoon.
General
What is League Tycoon?
League Tycoon is a modern fantasy football platform designed for dynasty and contract leagues. It offers integrated salary cap management, contract bidding, slow auction drafts, trade auctions, league chat, and commissioner tools, all available on mobile and web with zero ads.
Is League Tycoon only for contract dynasty leagues?
No. League Tycoon supports multiple formats including Standard Dynasty, Contract Dynasty, Graveyard, Gambit, and Ranked. Contract dynasty is the signature feature, but the platform is built for a range of serious fantasy football play styles.
Is League Tycoon a mobile app or a website?
Both. League Tycoon has a native mobile app available on iOS and Android, and a full web experience accessible from any modern browser. You can use whichever you prefer, or switch between them. The experience and features are consistent across both.
Does League Tycoon have ads?
No. League Tycoon has zero advertisements and zero sportsbook clutter. It is a pure fantasy football platform with no engagement bait.
How much does League Tycoon cost?
League Tycoon has a generous free tier that is always free (not a trial) and includes Standard Dynasty, Graveyard, Gambit, slow auction drafts, trade auctions, mobile app + web, league chat, and zero sportsbook clutter. Contract Dynasty features cost $11.99 per team per year via a token. Each activated team gets a free Ranked Competition entry, and you can win tokens in Ranked to cover future years. You can explore all contract features for free before September 1st activation.
Contract Dynasty
What is a contract dynasty league?
A contract dynasty league is a dynasty fantasy football format where every player has a salary and contract length. Teams operate under a salary cap, creating GM-style decisions about who to keep, extend, franchise tag, or release. Contracts expire over time, creating natural roster turnover and strategic depth.
How is contract dynasty different from standard dynasty?
In standard dynasty, you keep players indefinitely at no cost. In contract dynasty, players have salaries that count against a cap and contracts that expire. This prevents permanent hoarding, creates meaningful offseason decisions, and keeps leagues healthy over multiple seasons.
Is contract dynasty too complicated?
Contract dynasty adds strategic depth, but League Tycoon makes the information clear and accessible. Cap space, contract details, and available moves are visible at a glance. Most players find it intuitive once they see it in action, especially because everything is managed inside the platform, not on spreadsheets.
Do I need spreadsheets to track contracts?
Not on League Tycoon. All salary caps, contracts, extensions, franchise tags, rookie options, and compliance are managed automatically inside the platform. This is the core advantage. Other setups require spreadsheets and manual tracking, but League Tycoon does not.
Switching Platforms
How do I switch my league to League Tycoon?
Create your league on League Tycoon, configure the rules and format, set up rosters (import or manual), and invite your league mates. The platform provides commissioner tools to help with the transition. Most leagues complete the switch in a few sessions.
Will my league mates be frustrated by a new platform?
League Tycoon's modern UI is designed to be easy to learn. The mobile app and web experience are clean and intuitive. Most league mates adapt quickly, especially if they're coming from older or more cluttered platforms.
Will we lose our league history if we switch?
No. League Tycoon's Hall of Fame lets you backfill your league's entire history: all-time standings, trophies, head-to-head records, and high scores. You can view regular season and playoff records separately. Your league's legacy stays intact.
Can I convert a standard dynasty league to contract dynasty?
Yes. Many leagues make this transition. You can assign initial contracts and salaries to existing rosters when setting up on League Tycoon. The commissioner guide covers best practices for this conversion.
What if my league mates think contract leagues are too complex?
Show them the platform. When contract information, cap space, and available moves are visible and clear rather than buried in spreadsheets, the complexity becomes manageable. League Tycoon is designed to make contract leagues accessible to every member, not just the commissioner.
