Switch from Fantrax to League Tycoon
Fantrax is highly customizable and supports multiple sports. League Tycoon is the cleaner, more streamlined dynasty-first alternative with a modern mobile app, integrated contract management, and trade auctions. If your league is focused on dynasty fantasy football, here is how to make the switch.
Why leagues switch from Fantrax
Fantrax gives you a lot of knobs to turn, and that flexibility works well for multi-sport leagues or formats that need heavy customization. But for dynasty fantasy football specifically, many commissioners find the platform heavier than it needs to be. These are the reasons leagues make the move to League Tycoon.
- ✓Cleaner, modern UX
League Tycoon was designed from scratch for dynasty football. The interface is fast, uncluttered, and easy for every league mate to pick up. - ✓Modern mobile app
A native mobile experience on iOS and Android. No pinch-zooming or navigating desktop layouts on a phone. - ✓Trade auctions built in
Transparent trade auctions with visible offers, anti-sniping timers, and market-driven outcomes. No more backroom deals or trade drama. - ✓Integrated contract management
Salary caps, contracts, dead money, franchise tags, and cap tracking are built into the platform. No spreadsheets, no manual workarounds. - ✓Zero ads included free
Standard dynasty on League Tycoon is ad-free. On Fantrax, removing ads requires a paid subscription. - ✓Dynasty-focused platform
Every feature is built with dynasty leagues in mind. You get tools designed for long-term league management instead of features spread across multiple sports.
What you gain on League Tycoon
Beyond a cleaner day-to-day experience, League Tycoon gives your league access to features that are either unavailable or require workarounds on Fantrax.
Trade auctions
Put players on the block, let the league compete with visible offers, and let the market decide market price.
Slow auction drafts
Async auction drafts that run over days or weeks, perfect for offseason roster building.
Contract dynasty
Full salary cap management with contracts, extensions, franchise tags, dead money, and cap penalties. All automated.
Compensatory draft picks
Automatic compensatory pick generation based on free agent losses, just like the NFL.
Hall of Fame and league history
Track your league's legacy with all-time standings, trophies, records, and historical stats.
Draft lottery
Configurable draft lottery system to discourage tanking and keep every team invested.
Step-by-step migration guide
Moving from Fantrax to League Tycoon is a manual process, but it is simpler than most commissioners expect. Here is the path.
1. Talk to your league
Share the League Tycoon app or web experience in the group chat and let people explore. The offseason is the ideal time to make the switch since there is no live scoring to worry about.
2. Create your league on League Tycoon
Set up a new league and configure scoring, roster sizes, and league rules. Match your existing Fantrax settings as closely as possible.
3. Enter existing rosters
Input rosters from your Fantrax league. If your league uses contracts, assign salaries and contract lengths during this step.
4. Backfill league history
Use the Hall of Fame to enter your league's history: all-time standings, trophies, head-to-head records, and high scores. Nothing from your league's past has to be left behind.
5. Invite league mates
Share the league invite link. League mates can join via the mobile app or the web and see their rosters immediately.
6. Run a test period
Let everyone explore the platform before the season starts. Process a few test trades or waiver claims so people get comfortable with the interface.
7. Go live
Once everyone is set up, your league is running on League Tycoon. Contracts, trades, drafts, scoring, and communication are all in one place.
For salary cap and contract leagues
If your Fantrax league runs a salary cap format with manual contract tracking, the switch to League Tycoon is especially impactful. League Tycoon's contract dynasty format automates everything that commissioners typically manage in spreadsheets: salary caps, contract extensions, franchise tags, dead money, and cap penalties.
During migration, you can assign each player their existing salary and contract length. From that point forward, the platform handles all cap math, contract expirations, and cap compliance automatically. No more spreadsheet reconciliation at 1 AM on a Tuesday.
