Move your dynasty league from Sleeper to League Tycoon

Sleeper is a popular all-purpose fantasy app that supports dynasty. League Tycoon is built specifically for dynasty leagues. If your league wants stronger dynasty-native features like slow auction drafts with 20+ simultaneous players, trade auctions, compensatory picks, and zero sportsbook clutter, switching is simpler than you think.

Why leagues switch from Sleeper

Slow auction drafts with 20+ players at once

Sleeper supports snake and linear drafts natively but doesn't offer true slow auction drafts with multiple simultaneous nominations. League Tycoon runs slow auctions with up to 20+ players on the block at the same time, complete with proxy bidding and anti-sniping timers.

Trade auctions

When a trade is posted on League Tycoon, any team can counter-bid on the players involved. It creates a transparent, market-driven process instead of backroom deals that half the league never sees. Sleeper doesn't offer anything like this.

Compensatory picks

Losing a star in free agency should come with compensation. League Tycoon handles compensatory pick logic automatically so commissioners don't have to track it in spreadsheets or rely on manual workarounds.

Draft lottery

League Tycoon has a built-in draft lottery system that discourages tanking and adds offseason excitement. No third-party tools or honor-system lotteries required.

Zero sportsbook clutter

Sleeper has increasingly leaned into sportsbook and pick'em features. If your league just wants a clean dynasty experience without betting prompts, League Tycoon keeps the focus entirely on your league.

League history and Hall of Fame

Every league has a story. League Tycoon's Hall of Fame stores all-time standings, trophies, head-to-head records, and high scores. Your league's legacy is front and center, not buried in a settings menu.

What you gain on League Tycoon

League Tycoon is a dynasty-first platform. Every feature is designed for leagues that play year after year. Here's what your league gets on day one:

Step-by-step migration guide

The whole process usually takes less than an hour for the commissioner and a few minutes for each league mate.

1. Create your league on League Tycoon

Head to the app and create a new league. Choose standard dynasty (free) or contract dynasty (paid). Give it your league name and set the number of teams.

2. Configure settings and rules

Set up scoring, roster sizes, playoff format, trade deadlines, and any other league rules. If you're running contract dynasty, configure salary caps, contract lengths, and franchise tag rules.

3. Invite your league mates

Share the league invite link in your group chat. League mates can join from the mobile app or web. They'll be able to see the league and start exploring right away.

4. Set up rosters

Enter each team's current roster from Sleeper. If you're adding contracts for the first time, assign initial salaries and contract lengths. For standard dynasty, it's just the player names.

5. Backfill league history

Use the Hall of Fame to enter your league's history: past champions, all-time standings, head-to-head records, and high scores. Your league's legacy carries over so nothing is lost.

6. Run your first draft or start the season

Set up your next draft (try a slow auction if you haven't before) or jump straight into the season. You're live on League Tycoon.

What about contract dynasty?

If your league wants salary caps, multi-year contracts, franchise tags, and dead money, League Tycoon offers a full contract dynasty experience. It's the most advanced contract system available on any fantasy platform.

Contract dynasty is a paid feature, but standard dynasty is completely free. Your league can start with standard dynasty and upgrade to contracts later if you want to add that layer of strategy.

Convincing your league mates

The easiest way to get buy-in is to share the app and let people explore on their own. Most league mates care about two things: "Is it easy to use?" and "What do I gain?" League Tycoon answers both quickly.

A few tips that work:

  • Send the league invite link and let people poke around before committing
  • Highlight the specific features your league has been wanting (slow auctions, trade auctions, etc.)
  • Make the switch during the offseason when there's no time pressure
  • Share the FAQ for skeptical league mates to address common concerns upfront
